Assassin's Creed Valhalla has some of the coolest weapons in the franchise. From mythical Isu forged bows and spears, to historically inspired staves and axes, AC Valhalla's best weapons aren't hard to pin down. Indeed, many of the weapons and armor in the game originate from all over the world, as Eivor travels distant lands and explores ancient ruins.
There were several new sets of armor and unique weapons introduced to Valhalla in the two DLCs, Wrath of the Druids and The Siege of Paris. However, some of the best weapons can be found in the base game by playing through the story and exploring the environment. Naturally, each weapon is geared towards specific playstyles and aligns with one of the three skill trees in the game: bear, wolf, or raven.

Found in the Ravensthorpe Trading Post.
The Assassin's Creed formula has eluded the gaming industry for 17 years. The upcoming game, Shadows, reveals the truth.
Fafnir's Fang is a dagger aligned with the raven skill tree, designed for players who prioritize accumulating wealth in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Its unique ability doubles the silver received from chests, making it invaluable for those focused on upgrading gear or acquiring rare items. To obtain Fafnir's Fang, players must diligently explore and collect all treasures in the Ravensthorpe Trading Post area.
Once all local chests have been looted, return to the Merchant in Ravensthorpe to claim this dagger. Despite not boasting the most remarkable combat stats, Fafnir's Fang excels as a tool for economic prosperity in the game, aligning perfectly with the Viking ethos of conquest and plunder.

Acquire from the "In the Hall of the Slain" quest in Sciropescire.
The Hrunting axe emerges as an enhanced iteration of Varin's Axe, offering improved combat capabilities and a familiar speed bonus after each hit. This two-handed weapon can be acquired by completing the "In the Hall of the Slain" quest in Sciropescire and is worth the effort.
While lacking the sentimental value of Varin's Axe, Hrunting compensates with superior stats, making it a reliable choice throughout the protagonist Eivor's journey in England. As a staple of Viking armament, the Hrunting axe embodies the spirit of relentless combat and strategic prowess, ensuring its place among the elite weapons of Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Freyr's Sword stands as a formidable two-handed sword aligned with the bear skill tree. The weapon is distinguished by its ability to recover health on critical hits. This potent weapon is given to players in Assassin's Creed Valhalla upon completion of "The Plight of the Warlock" quest in Snotinghamscire.
With balanced attributes and a unique health recovery feature, Freyr's Sword proves ideal for Assassin's Creed Valhalla players seeking resilience and offensive power in their battles across medieval England. This weapon will do well to satisfy players focusing on aggressive playstyles. Freyr's Sword epitomizes the strength and endurance essential for Viking warriors facing relentless adversaries.

Located in a hidden chamber under the Lunar Gate in Jorvik.
The Drengiligr is a rare dagger in Assassin's Creed Valhalla that's known for enhancing stealth and speed when crouched, making it a preferred choice for players who favor covert operations. This unique weapon can be discovered in a hidden chamber beneath the Lunar Gate in Jorvik.
Despite the modest attack and stun statistics, its unparalleled bonuses to stealth and speed grant Eivor a significant advantage in navigating and infiltrating enemy territory unnoticed. As a testament to ancient Norse ingenuity, The Drengiligr exemplifies the artistry and practicality valued by Viking assassins. AC Valhalla doesn't emphasize stealth as much as older installments or in Basim's recent adventures in Mirage, but this dagger makes stealth-action gameplay entertaining nonetheless.

Defeat all the Zealots in the Order of the Ancients.
The Valkyrie's Spear emerges as a spear aligned with the raven skill tree, celebrated for its capability to inflict increased critical damage against elite adversaries. To acquire this formidable weapon in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, players must achieve the daunting task of defeating all the Zealots in the Order of the Ancients.
With a high critical chance and specialized bonus against elite opponents, Valkyrie's Spear becomes an indispensable asset for Eivor in confronting formidable foes and asserting Viking dominance throughout England. This spear has strategic significance and impressive combat prowess that's up to standard in most combat encounters. Valkyrie's Spear symbolizes the warrior ethos inherent in Norse mythology.

Defeat Rikiwulf in battle.
One of the more lore-rich weapons in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Varin's axe is passed to Eivor following the death of his/her father, for whom the axe is named. Eivor attains the weapon after defeating Kjotve the Cruel's clansman, Rikiwulf.
Though it isn't spectacularly powerful or unique in its own right, it is a very good weapon in the early game. It also offers a significant boost to weapons as one-half of a dual-wield setup, buffing speed every time Eivor hits. Of course, later in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, players will find weapons that will offer them far better battle options.

Finish the "Reporting on Essex" story arc.
As part of Ubisoft Forward at Summer Games Fest, CBR got to sit down with Assassin's Creed Shadows Producer Karl Onne.
The Arc of Elan is a powerful weapon in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, revered for its precision and potency. However, its true potential lies in the player's ability to master its most useful assets. The bow's unique perk increases Eivor's Ability Damage with each consecutive hit, stacking up to four times.
This is already an excellent perk on its own merits. But when paired with the right abilities, this perk turns the Arc of Elan into one of the most powerful ranged weapons in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. This bow's impressive stats and unique perk make it an essential addition to any serious hunter's arsenal.

Slay four legendary animals
Petra's Arc stands out as an exceptional weapon in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, especially for players who enjoy hunting legendary beasts. With its impressive stats, this bow delivers massive damage against single targets, making it ideal for boss fights where quick, powerful strikes are crucial.
Its ability to increase critical damage at full health further enhances its lethality, making it a top choice for hunters. This makes Petra's Arc the perfect weapon for quick damage during those boss fights where proximity is the player's enemy. Unlocked after killing the fourth legendary beast, this is a must-have, and the standout ranged option.

Found in a treasure chest in Grimsteinhus hidden behind ice barriers
Added in Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Dawn of Ragnarok DLC, Fenrir's Incisor has a strong case for being one of the best daggers in the game. Created from a giant tooth from the monster Fenrir, it feels like a fitting weapon to give to someone of Odin's stature.
As with all daggers, Fenrir's Incisor is fast, but it's elevated above other daggers thanks to the deadly stats it has. It synergizes well with other weapons thanks to its unique perk, which reduces stamina usage for special attacks with the dagger and should remain relatively viable for several playstyles, though a stealthy, crit-based build seems the obvious choice.

Buy the Berserker Pack DLC
As a weapon that's only available via the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Season Pass content, many players may have overlooked the Bear-Claw. However, this quick and effective weapon packs a real punch in AC Valhalla for players with access to it.
Once the Heavy Dual-Wield skill has been unlocked, it can be equipped in either weapon slot, and it carries a perk that increases Eivor's attack following the consumption of a ration. This axe isn't the most accessible of weapons in Assassin's Creed Valhalla — axe of otherwise — but it won't disappoint. All-in-all, the Bear-Claw is a solid bearded axe with well-rounded stats for the weapon type.

Treasure Chest in Saint Helen's Spring
The Battle Sparth is a two-handed Dane axe in Assassin's Creed Valhalla aligned with the bear skill tree. This weapon can be found by exploring Saint Helen's Spring in the Lincolnshire area. To gain access to the weapon, players will have to defeat all the local bandits in the area.
The Sparth is a fantastic choice for AC Valhalla players who like throwing themselves into the thick of battle. Since its damage increases when surrounded by more than 3 enemies, the weapon is most effective during raids. Aesthetically, the axe truly fits in with Eivor's Viking roots and their action-packed nature.

Available in the Wealth Chest in Eikundarsund
The Yngling Seax is a one-handed dagger that falls under the raven-aligned skill tree, making it a versatile and agile weapon for players who prefer speed and precision in combat. This dagger can be obtained early in the game, located in the starting region of Rygjafylke, specifically in Eikundarsund. Despite its early availability, the Seax's true potential is unlocked as players progress and level up their skills.
This dagger is particularly powerful and best suited for aggressive playstyles due to its short range and rapid attack speed. The Seax's design encourages players to get up close and personal with their enemies, delivering quick and devastating strikes. Its high speed allows for swift dodges and counterattacks, making it an ideal weapon for those who enjoy a more dynamic and mysterious combat approach.

A chest in Ledecestre, Ledecestrecire.
Assassin's Creed's history-spanning story jumps around centuries between games. Here's how to play every major game in chronological order.
Skadi's Wrath is a two-handed Light Bow in Assassin's Creed Valhalla found by exploring Ledecestre and is aligned with the bear skill tree. Players who prefer an all-round archer play style will find this weapon particularly valuable.
While not the most interesting-looking bow in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, it impressively increases critical chance by +15 for 10 seconds when hitting an enemy weak point. Skadi's Wrath is undoubtedly one of the best early-game weapons for ranged players, even if it doesn't look noteworthy at first glance. It's a more than capable weapon that'll last until stronger options become available.

How To Find:
Located in Offchurch's crypt in Ledecestrescire.
A two-handed Dane axe aligned with the raven skill tree, the Sepulcher Axe can be found in Offchurch's crypt in the Ledecestrescire area. The Sepulcher is one of the nicer-looking two-handed axes in the game. Even at fine quality, it's gilded in gold and beautifully embellished.
Not only does the Sepulcher look gorgeous, but it has the added benefit of inflicting damage over time to enemies, setting them on fire with a critical hit. Like the Seax, the Sepulcher can be acquired relatively early in the game during the quest, "Tilting the Balance." The additional fire damage makes this weapon incredibly useful during AC Valhalla's early game.

Chest at the trade depot in Jorvik.
The Spinning-Death is a one-handed flail aligned with the raven skill tree. Flails are certainly some of the most devilish weapons from the medieval era, and they have often been re-imagined in fantasy movies and games, like the Witch King in The Lord of the Rings.
A little later in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Spinning-Death can be acquired in Jorvik. Geared more towards heavy damage, it balances out when facing enemies at higher levels. Like the two-handed axes in the game, the flail is perfect for up-close and personal battles, even though the flavor text suggests it's best used in situations requiring stealth.

Discovered in a chest in Forest Hideout.
The Carolingian Longsword in Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a two-handed sword that falls under the bear-aligned skill tree. This weapon can be found by exploring the Forest Hideout in East Anglia. While not a Viking-style weapon, the Carolingian remains one of the game's most classic weapons. Thanks to its incredible stats, it also proves one of the most effective.
The Carolingian is a sophisticated but deadly sword in AC Valhalla, and it doesn't require too much skill to use. A must for players who enjoy slasher-style gameplay, the sword originally belonged to Lerion before Eivor snuck into his place and eliminated him.

Break the rock at the lake in Eurvicscire while using Excalibur.
While Assassin's Creed Valhalla contains other mythical weapons, Noden's Arc was created by the first civilization, the Isu. Unfortunately for some, Noden's Arc is only available in the Collector's Edition of the game, found at a large lake in northern Eurvicscire.
Just to the south of the Brunton Turret, players must wait for the sun to set before cracking open a glowing rock, revealing Noden's Arc. Unsurprisingly, Noden's Arc establishes itself as one of AC Valhalla's most powerful bows. As a Hunter’s Bow, Noden's Arc proves ideal for taking down targets from a distance. Like other select weapons, this isn't the most accessible armament, but players who use it should be pleased with its performance.

Collect the Treasure of Britain tablets.
Excalibur is a sword of British legend, once wielded by King Arthur after he received it from the Lady of the Lake. Unsurprisingly, Excalibur proves the strongest sword in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the two-handed weapon utterly destroying enemies with its reach and stun stats.
Additionally, Excalibur offers a few more perks than other weapons, such as blinding enemies after landing Heavy Finishers or critical hits. Another Piece of Eden, Excalibur supposedly has enough power to break anything. While it's expected to see such a fabled weapon rank as highly as it does in AC Valhalla, it's a welcome addition to the game for fans of mythology.

Found in Goinnhellir after finishing the "A Brother's Keeper" quest.
Another mythical weapon to be reckoned with is Odin's Spear, Gungnir. This terrific spear weapon can be obtained at the end of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Odin's Spear is located in Hordafylke, a level 280 area in the northern part of Norway.
Like the other spears in AC Valhalla, Gungnir is difficult to master but can prove incredibly effective to skillful players due to its long reach and heavy stun potential. With the Heavy Dual-Wield skill, Gungnir can be paired with either a shield or it can be combined with another offensive one-handed weapon. It's a strong weapon on its own with even better potential for versatility.

Collect Thor's entire set of armor, and travel to Hordafylke in Norway.
Considering Valhalla follows the Viking invasion of Britain, the gods unsurprisingly make an appearance throughout, both in the story and side missions. The addition of Mjolnir is equally unsurprising, but it's certainly one of the hardest weapons to obtain. Before players can find Thor’s hammer, they must equip each piece of Thor's armor and then search the top of the ice-capped mountain in Hordafylke, Norway.
Unlike most of the weapons within the game, Mjolnir is an actual Piece of Eden, explaining its ability to use lightning-based attacks and cause stun to enemies. The weapon is easily one of the most powerful in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but combine that with how thrilling it is to wield Mjolnir, and it's the best weapon in the game.
