The axe is one of the oldest weapons known to mankind. From its humble beginnings has a sharp rock with no handle, it has since evolved into a more advanced, but still primal killing machine. Conan Exiles honors this weapon well by including a large variety of axes for players to pick as they work their way up the food chain.

Much like their real-world counterparts, the axes in Conan Exiles have undergone many iterations based on available materials and player expertise. As a result, some axes are better than others, and knowing the difference between a crude rock-on-a-stick to a well-forged steel weapon of doom is what separates mere exiles from conquerors.

The Isle of Siptah update for Conan Exiles has introduced some pretty and craftable weapons that are both rare and powerful. Axes are were not exempted from such a development as the Battle Axe of Nergal is one of the most practical among the selections.

It's readily available for crafting though other axes can overshadow it. Still, the Battle Axe of Nergal comes with respectable stats which are pretty close to some of the best axes in the game.

Crafted with:

Speaking of craftable legendary axes, the Foeshatter is also among the best as it boasts slightly higher stats compared to the Battle Axe of Nergal and can be more available depending on which content the players consume.

On top of having slightly better damage, the Foeshatter also has slightly better durability (which doesn't matter much unless in situations where going reckless with one's axe can result in heightened durability consumption).

Crafted with:

For those who are too lazy to craft their own weapon, they can always just take them from the mangled corpses of their enemies. The Executioner's Axe luckily allows this and as an added bonus, it's a pretty weapon, even for an axe.

To make it more intimidating, it has been used many times to sever too many victims' heads. Owners can think of it as a cursed weapon though it has no special stats to represent that canon.

Found in:

Another beautiful and rather straightforward axe in the game is the Corrupted Axe, which drops from one of the most difficult bosses in the game. One would expect that it would be the best axe like other weapons that drop from the same boss but it's quite modest.

The Corrupted Axe has the same stats as the Executioner's Axe except it might be easier to acquire for some people. Plus the design might be more appealing for some players who want a more metallic sheen on their weapons.

Found in:

Many players might recognize this axe -- it's in the name. It also has the same stats as the previous two axes except it can be harder or easier to acquire depending on how many Skeleton Keys a player has in stock.

To differentiate itself from other axes with similar stats, the Strangely Familiar axe has a darker theme and is more elegant. It also gives the wielder a useful +5 to Grit so they can swing this more often than usual.

Found in:

Another good axe that can be acquired from the Legendary Chests is the Battle-axe of the Berserkers and it's quite a handful. Despite the name, this axe takes the wielder's health into careful consideration.

That's because it gives a comfortable +50 to Max Health, making it good for tanky characters. Beyond that, it boasts the same stats as the other axes such as the Strangely Familiar Axe. Getting it is a matter of luck, sadly.

Found in:

It would seem that this axe should have been named the Axe of the Berserker instead as the stats are more focused on aggressive characters. The Axe of the Lion gives +5 to Strength. Hence, it's great for characters who have already invested a lot in melee combat.

Stat-wise, it has the same numbers as the other two Legendary Chest weapons so it's really up to the player's need or preference which to use. Again, getting the weapon is up to their luck.

Found in:

While other axes are fixated on mass slaying, Glimmermoon insists on having other uses and branching out to utility. The axe, true enough to its name, glows when it's dark. In some instances, it can eliminate the need for torches though the light is significantly feebler.

On top of the added utility, the Glimmermoon also has slightly higher damage compared to Legendary Chest axes. That extra three points of damage can go a long way in prolonged and attrition fights.

Found in:

The Axe of the Gate Guardian might not have the same utility as the Glimmermoon but it has the same damage and also another useful stat increase. It gives the wielder a +5 bonus to Accuracy, so this is an axe that strikes true.

It does have the same stats as Glimmermoon and another advantage it has is that the Axe of the Gate Guardian is easier to acquire. It drops from a specific monster in the game though don't expect the fight to be easy.

Found in:

Thankfully for most players, the most powerful axe in the game isn't acquired through random lottery or monster drops. Instead, it's craftable and that already makes it miles better.

It has a whopping 66 damage to health and to offset this power, the axe has low durability for a late-game weapon. Still, that's a small drawback and is easily circumvented. The damage is out of this world which is poetic considering the weapon was modeled after alien weaponry.
