How to get to Disneyland Paris from London as Eurostar axes route

Mar 28, 2023

Travellers will have to change in France instead of getting a direct train

Eurostar is making a big change for parents and children going to Disneyland Paris from London this month. From Wednesday, June 7, you will no longer be able to get a direct train from London to Disneyland Paris.

Instead, travellers will have to take a train to Lille or Paris and then another from there between this date and the end of the year. Eurostar says it is reviewing its plans for 2024. The route has been running since 1996.

This is because Eurostar is focussing on 'core' routes as recovers from the Covid pandemic and deals with new Brexit rules and red tape, reported the BBC last year.

You can catch a Eurostar train from London St Pancras to Lille Europe station. From there, take a French high-speed train (TGV) from Lille Europe to Marne-la-Vallee-Chessy station. This is opposite the Disneyland Paris park gates.

You can book this on the Eurostar website. To book, select Disneyland Paris (Chessy/Marne-La-Vallée) as your destination. On the booking page, click on ‘1 change’ to see the full journey breakdown. Tickets are available four months in advance..

If you are going via Paris, you can take a Eurostar train from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord and from there take local RER trains to Disneyland Paris. Some trains go on sale as early as 11 months in advance, with more trains added about six months in advance.

RER tickets can be bought at ticket booths or ticket machines in the Metro and RER area at Paris Gare du Nord on the day. They cost €5 one-way. Children aged four to nine get a 50 per cent discount on the RER network and children under four can go for free.

The trains run every 10 minutes and the journey takes an hour.

From the Paris station, take the blue RER line B from Paris Gare du Nord towards Robinson or Saint-Rémy-Lès-Chevreuse or Massy-Palaiseau, get off the train at Châtelet-Les-Halles. Then at Châtelet-Les Halles, take the red RER line A towards Marne-La-Vallée – Chessy (Disneyland Paris). Get off the train at Marne-La-Vallée – Chessy (Disneyland Paris).

You can book hotels on Booking.com.
